MCF June meeting

Representatives from our MCF communities and supporters, FEL Scotland and Loch Lomond & The Trossachs Countryside Trust, gathered in Aberfoyle in mid June to share updates, progress discussions on governance and funding and develop future project ideas.

Despite the rain, we also enjoyed a visit to The Field in Kinlochard which is a 27-acre area of neglected agricultural land recently brought into community ownership, supported by funding from Scottish Land Fund, the National Heritage Lottery Fund and the Community Led Local Development Fund. Surrounded by commercial forest The Field itself is a haven for native flora and fauna – and vital to the future of the village and its people, through the potential to bring long-term social and economic benefits to the community and to the wider area.
